What did you look like as a JW?
by highdose ini was going through some old photos today, i found one of myself when i was a devout jw.
it was really shocking!
i'm so thin, my cheeks are hollow, i'm as white as the wall behind me, i'm standing hunched over, and in my eyes you can see real misery.

The wife calls those days my beige cardigan days. Beige suit neat hair and a society approved not below the corners of the mouth Moustach in the 80s. I did get away with colorful bowties at times!
I am really scared coz i still have the suit! it's calling me nooooo. must burn it, no, give it to the salvation army, will they accept demon posessed clothing?

My husband admitted being too fearful to leave the JWs
by doublelife inmy husband came home from work and told me that he told his mom about me not believing in this religion anymore.
she's concerned and thinks i should tell my family.
i told him no.

i need to do something similar with my children before they end up baptized in it and have learned from many that slowly is the key.
I did something similar to what flipper suggests. I started talking about the internet, asking if they have it on at home yet and enquiring how did his stepfather use ebay, answer was the library or work. I then led it to the Chinese govt censoring the internet for most of its population and asked him why did he think they would do that? his answer was perhaps they are scared the people will learn about bad stuff they do or that the rest of the world is better! I then said, you know the scientologists? they do somthing similar, even providing their members a internet explorer program that filters negitive stuff about them, asked him why in the world would a govt or a religion want to control the use of the internet?
i left it at that, i hope after all the recent hoopla about the internet among them that he will make his own connection about them.
I wish you all the best with your husband. all i can sugest is to back off for a while till he kinda forgets it...

5 of us, two girls 3 boys. None in. I was last out.
3 of us went thru the seventies as teens, two born in the late 70s faded. I was the only who left while still believing i think.

do you feel only one needs to have love, faith in jesus, and those basics and that is what you must proclaim.. do you feel true knowledge must be taught to all, and as much as is known.

While i doubt little old me could be the blame,
i was in there really stirring the pot. Got into a real fun session (for me) with a couple of people. I was playing not very nicely and they took the ball and went home. A few mins after posting stuff on 1914 and generation complete with wt references to all the changes, and shooting down some poor sisters well researched faulty reasoning on uneven yoking in marriage, POOF. It was gone! While i was still logged in!
Crikey Moses! did i do that? shit, there goes my playground.
I did notice that they are on real hyper red alert for apostates though! One guy basically tried to call me out but actually apologized after i castigated him for calling my provided wt references critical.
